GREAT HISTORICAL LETTER from a Manchester solicitor written 12th AUGUST 1842 remarking on the "HIGHLY DISTURBED NATURE OF THE TOWN" (Manchester). The writer continues to suggest a client who was also an OFFICER OF THE CHESHIRE YEOMANRY (Cavalry) should not venture into Manchester to keep a business appointment.
