GREAT USAGE of SCARCE SIKH INFANTRY REGIMENT crested envelope. NOTE: During the Second Afghan War of 1878-80, the regiment took part in the defence of Sherpur Cantonment, Kabul (15th-23rd December 1879) and the Battle of Kandahar (1st September 1880).Both Thal & Thall Cantonment were in the North-West Frontier area of India (now in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan).
