WE BELIEVE A SMALL PART OF THIS PRINTING with low control numbers had a heavily misplaced overprint such as this. ALL KNOWN EXAMPLES ARE STRUCK THROUGH with a vertical pen mark probably indicating WITHDRAWAL from use. FEW KNOWN. EXTREMELY SCARCE if not rare. Note** Roger de Lacy-Spencer suggests they are ESSAYS & not errors. Condition as seen in scans. Very Fine for an item of this type & period.
