GB MACHIN TRIAL on LUNDY PUFFIN Issues GPO ALL-OVER PHOSPHOR (AOP) Bradbury Printing Imperf Blocks J111a NEW FIND by Samwells. MATCHED TRIO of blocks of four from this TRIAL PRINTING with varying numbers of "passes" through PHOSPHOR COATING machine. These imperforate multiple impression Lundy "PUFFIN" definitives (then current) were apparently provided by BRADBURY WILKINSON to a procurement officer of the GPO. They are believed to relate to trials for the first MACHIN issues on PHOSPORISED (AOP) PAPER c1976. These trials lead to the introduction of the GB Machin 8.5p AOP issue of March 1976 with "ALL OVER PHOSPHOR". Three different sheets recently came to us from the deceased estate of that procurement officer. Now listed by Jon Aitchison, who knew of no other sheets. Very Fine for items of this type & period.
