Bears imperforated BLOCK OF FOUR *DE LA RUE/LONDON* Sample Stamps printed in "ORANGE" ink produced from INDIAN RED & DEEP CHROME pigments. The original recipe in manuscript is alongside the block. Noted as having been "Used for various Work". Odd gum tones but overall Very Fine for an item of this type & period. NOTE ALSO THAT THE REVERSE CONTAINS A MANUSCRIPT REFERENCE TO **UNDER-PRINTS**.
