UGANDA MISSIONARY ISSUES Cover 5R High Value Registered 1899 GPO Cape Town 49g
£1,395.00
A SPECTACULAR MIXED FRANKING with no less than SEVEN different "Missionary" stamps applied to Registered cover to the Audit Office of the GPO, Cape Town COGH. Note the use of the 5 Rupee high value. This high value (Uganda SG.61) unpriced by Stanley Gibbons on cover. Despite it's philatelic nature this is a VERY RARE stamp on cover. BRITISH EAST AFRICA postage stamp tied MOMBASA? squared circle for 9th March 1899 with ZANZIBAR transit CDS on reverse (11th March). Portion of reverse of cover removed (possibly with further BEA stamps?) & addressee's name neatly excised from address panel. Otherwise Fine for an item of this type & period. Please look at all the scans to help form your own opinion. Priced & sold with all faults considered (WAF)
